FAQs

Can I put my sheepskin in the washing machine?

We recommend that you do not put your Winnie Nellie Jessie in the washing machine as this may result in shrinkage or damage to the wool. Our sheepskins may be suitable for specialist dry cleaning but it is best to check this with the dry cleaner shop.

How should I care for my sheepskin or pouffe?

Winnie Nellie Jessie sheepskins and pouffes are wonderfully low maintenance. The best way to tend to them is to give them a good shake to remove excess particles, then vacuum, and finally to keep them looking best they will be completely revived when groomed with one of our sheepskin brushes, or a similar wire wool brush. If you need to remove a stain you can use a damp cloth, and a sheepskin brush will also help to remove any dried stains.

Have the sheep been bred specifically for their sheepskin?

No. Winnie Nellie Jessie sheepskins are a by-product of the meat industry and therefore if they weren't turned into rugs, they would just be disposed of. Our British Rare Breed sheepskins are sourced in the UK and subject to DEFRA processing regulations, whilst our Icelandic sheepskins are subject to EU processing regulations. Your Winnie Nellie Jessie sheepskin is ethically sourced.
